Here we take a look at a new Peko Publishing title 'TTL (Through the Lens) World War II Vehicles'.

Review

This offering from Peko Publishing is authored by Tom Cockle and while listed as World War II vehicles the contents list inside the cover provides a more balanced list of coverage which is as follows:

Part 1

Lastkraftwagen 3T MIT GLEISKETTE ( Maultier) (Sd.Kfz.3)

Part 2

Panzerkampfwagen III Ausf.E (Sd.Kfz.141)

Part 3

Pz.Sfl.2 Fur 7.2cm Pak 36 (Sd.Kfz.132) (Marder III)

Part 4

Panzerjager Tiger (P) Mit 8.8cm Pak43/2 (L/71) (Sd.Kfz.184)

Part 5

T-34/76

Part 6

Steyr 1500A

The contents of this title are covered in 124 pages, of period black and white photographs. There is no dedicated text as such, but the author has provided excellent captions for each of the photographs which are informative in all cases with some providing more information than a person could get just looking at the photograph. The photographs themselves are all presented in landscape and while the quality of the photographs varies I would not class any of the pictures as bad. It is also worth noting that each section of the title provides approximately 20 photographs of each subject in the field and often being repaired.

Conclusion

This offering from Peko Publishing by Tom Cockle covers some items that have limited coverage elsewhere, with perhaps my biggest surprise being the inclusion of the T34/76 as it does not really mesh with the German subjects in the title. With that said, as with all of the TTL books that I have seen so far I really like them from a mixed presentation style that enables the modeller if they so wish to accurately depict a model as would be seen in the field.
