Introduction:

Pelican offers a line of Mobile Armory military cases to store and transport weapons. These cases are watertight, dust proof and chemical resistant, each specially designed to provide a weapon-specific fit for maximum protection and minimum volume.

Eureka XXL provides a number of different Pelican cases as 1/35 scale accessory sets. Majority of these sets have been previously assessed on Armorama, while this review covers their Modern US Army PELICAN™ M60 Machine Gun Case (E-071).

Review:

The set is packed in a small cardboard box. The box features a small front opening, so the contents of the set, and more importantly their quality, are visible.

The box contains a zip-lock bag holding a single resin piece.

I inspected the piece and found a perfect cast. As with all the other Eureka XXL accessory sets I reviewed so far, the details are sharp and superbly delivered with no seam lines or air bubbles present. A big plus in my book. The casting block was removed before packing the piece, with only two small stubs to clean.

The piece offers a 1/35 scale rendition of 472-M60 Machine Gun Case from Pelican. The case holds an M60, spare barrel and two dehumidifying desiccant bags. Available in four military colors (Black, Desert Tan, Grey and Olive Drab Green), the case has dimensions of 49.87 x 17.06 x 12.19 in (126.7 x 43.3 x 31 cm).

Closer inspection reveals Eureka did their homework when designing the 1/35 scale M60 case, as I found all the case features on the resin piece: stackable ribs, grip handles, lockable hasps, pressure relief valve and two wheels. These details are nicely rendered, along with the indentations on the bottom of the crate which can accommodate stacking ribs of the second case… which means that these 1/35 scale cases are stackable, like the real thing!

The dimensions of the 1/35 scale piece are 36,1 x 12,4 x 7,4 mm, which makes it a millimeter lower than the real case.

Altogether, Modern US Army PELICAN™ M60 Machine Gun Case (E-071) from Eureka XXL is a great 1/35 scale accessory set. It delivers one M60 case as a single resin piece, wonderfully cast and with superbly rendered details. Highly recommended.
