Introduction:

The M24 Sniper Weapon System (SWS) is the military and police version of the Remington Model 700 rifle, M24 being the model name assigned by the US Army after adoption as their standard sniper rifle in 1988. The M24 is referred to as a "weapon system" because it consists of not only a rifle, but also a detachable telescopic sight and other accessories.

Pelican offers several different weapon cases to store M24 in, and Eureka XXL opted to produce the 1/35 scale version of 472-M24 Rifle Case. The set however, unlike the other Eureka Pelican case sets, includes the weapon as well.

Review:

Modern US Army PELICAN™ M24 Rifle Case with M24 Sniper Weapon System (E-075) set comes packed in a carboard box. The front opening allows a glimpse inside the box, to see the contents of the set.

The box holds a zip-lock bag with 4 resin pieces.

The pieces are cast in grey resin. The cast is superb with no casting imperfections. There is a ton of details on the case and the weapon, all sharp and nicely defined. The casting blocks on the weapon are large but shouldn’t be difficult to remove with a good pair of side cutters. I suggest being extra careful with the bipod, as the piece is delicate and could snap easily. The casting block on the case was removed before packing the set and the only thing to get rid of are two casting supports on each piece. The final cleanup is straightforward using basic resin working techniques, a sharp blade and some sandpaper.

The set delivers both the M24 SWS and 472-M24 Rifle Case.

The weapon is cast together with the scope, while the bipod is supplied as a separate piece. The M24 looks really good with the details realistically delivered and comparable to the real M24. With the length of 31,5 mm the 1/35 scale piece is accurately sized.

The case represents 472-M24 Rifle Case from Pelican, designed to hold one M24 (w scope and bipod) and accessories. The 1/35 scale case features grip handles, lockable hasps and pressure relief valve, and is sized to 36,6 x 12,4 mm, which relates well to the real Pelican case. The case interior features foam insert, with two smaller boxes (cleaning kit/replacement parts) and the sling clearly identifiable.

The details on these pieces are absolutely superb. Well done Eureka!
