Figure painters usually prefer painting military, historical and fantasy figures. Female figures are always secondary probably due to lack of knowledge or experience.
In this book, Greek master painter Christos Katselos shares his techniques on modelling female figures and busts.

Artist used Vallejo Acyrlic Paints and gives the color codes of paints and also his recipes.
As in all modelling books, the first chapter is the introduction part where the artist briefly explains his basics and tells about the materials and tools he uses.
Preparing and Assembling a Resin Miniature
Second chapter is about how to assembly a female figure and make it ready for painting. Christos shares his process on Life Miniatures 75 mm figure Bad Blood 2 for cleaning, pinning, assemblying and making the figure base in 43 step by step photos.
Painting
Third chapter is the painting of the same figure prepared on 2nd chapter. The artist starts with the flesh tones. After the base skin tone, shades and highlights, he paints the bionic left arm in non-metallic metal technique. Then the clothing, weapons and figure base. 21 step by step in numbers and 6 photos of fully painted figure. Photos are supported in well detailed text and Vallejo color codes for each part is given. He also added a photo of his basic flesh tone palette.
Painting a Female Fantasy Figure Using Vallejo Acrylics
He paints another figure from fictional universe on 4th chapter. Life Miniatures 150 mm knee length, 2/3 figure Stand Alone, a young lady with backpack and AK rifle. Starting from flesh tones to finished figure, 35 photos in numbers with text for each photo on painting cloths, backpack, water bottle and axe. 7 photos for final and vallejo model color series codes for all parts.

Voodoo Lady is a 130 mm bust by 9th Gate Miniatures and made me remember the witch Tia Dalma of the Pirates of the Caribbeans played by Naomi Harris. 25 photos and text with explanations and codes for the painting process and 6 photos for the final. Really a nice paintwork on the colorful dress and dark skin tone.
Surrounded! Painting a Fictional Universe Bust
Christos Katselos paints 180 mm bust of Female and Puppy in a full action pose. 19 photos in numbers with explanations and color codes and 6 photos of the painted bust with puppy. Besides the very nice painting of the figure, face ofthe puppy looks exceptional.
Painting Eyes
Chapter 7 is a short article on painting eyes of large scale busts. He paints and shares his technique - 10 Easy Steps Using a Limited Colour Palette. 11 photos with explanations for Life Miniatures 180 mm Princess Grace of Monaco bust.
The next 2 chapters are four page articles for 120 mm figures by LuftKrieg 1919. Artists paints Arrow Girl - Zeppelin Defence Commander Yumiko to demonstrate painting an asian fantasy figure with color codes and 5 photos of finished figure. The other is Die Fledermaus - Lt Kati Otersdorf , an aviator in flight overalls, 6 photos and text for color recipes.
Legendary Marilyn Monroe
Last two chapters of the book is about one of the most beautiful ladies of the history. An 54 mm metal figure from Andrea Miniatures and a 180 mm bust from Life Miniatures.
54 mm figure is Subway Wind , the famous blowing skirts scene from the movie, The Seven Year Itch with 4 photos and color codes and bust is Bue Bye baby, based on her USO tour of Korea 1954 with 4 photos of finished figure and 4 photos for patches on flying jacket.
Conclusion
This is another great book with well detailed and useful articles. Photos are clear for details, well organized and texts are explanative. It will give motivation and great knowledge to whom thinks to paint female figures. I wish more 1/35 or 54 mm figure articles will be added on the next volumes.
