Master offers the famous Browning M1919  0.30 cal at 1/35 scale in a combination of 3D printing and turned brass for optimal reproduction.

The M1919 equipped numerous American vehicles such as the 1/2 ton 4x4 truck, 1/4 ton 4x4 truck, 3/4 ton 4x4 truck, Willys MB Jeep and more.

This model is the A4 version with D38579 pintle and comes with two optional barrels, an early type used since 1936 and a late type used since 1942.

To complement, Master also has  closed M1 ammunition boxes (GM-35-091 reference) and open ones (GM-35-090 reference).

The machine gun body and pintle are 3D printed. Their quality is excellent, with great detail and definition. They come on the printing base but are very easy to remove. The resin is slightly flexible, so even though they are very thin and delicate pieces, they are not as fragile as traditional resin.

The grip texture, the small trigger and sight and the numbers cast on the pintle are noteworthy examples of the fine detail.

The two optional barrels are made of brass, as is the cooling jacket. The latter is highly detailed with perfectly defined small holes. The cocking handle is also made of metal and is one of the smallest parts I have ever seen. Despite its small size, it has the correct tear shape and hollow end. Fortunately, two are included, as it is very easy to lose due to its size.

Assembly is very simple: the 3D-printed main body and the pintle separate from the supports without any problems, and the fit with the brass parts is perfect. You just have to be careful with the cooling jacket, which is slightly asymmetrical, to position it correctly. In just a few minutes, the machine gun is assembled. Be careful when handling the parts because both the pintle and the machine gun body have small parts that can break.

Conclusion

A beautiful representation of the iconic M1919 A4. The level of detail and definition is amazing, and the combination of 3D printed parts with turned brass barrel & cooling jacket gets the best of both materials.

With little effort, this kit can improve the look of any vehicle where is placed.
