Introduction:

Eureka XXL is a small aftermarket company best known for their superb towing cable sets. However, the company also offers an extensive range of resin accessory sets for dioramas. This review deals with Chemical Storage Containers #2 (E-067), a 1/35 scale set which depicts various plastic containers and jerrycans.

Review:

The set comes in a cardboard box. The box design is really cool, with a small opening on the front which offers a look inside the box, to see the pieces included in the set.

Opening the box reveals a zip-lock bag containing 5 resin pieces and a small decal sheet.

I inspected the resin pieces and was impressed with the quality of the cast. I noticed no defects in the resin whatsoever, and the details are well delivered. The cleanup can be kept to a minimum… each container has a casting block on its bottom, so some sanding should do the trick. Be careful when sanding resin, as the tiny particles can easily be inhaled. Wearing a protective mask is recommended.

The pieces represent 3 industrial-type plastic jerrycans of various sizes and capacities, one is around tight-head container with D-handles, and the last is a closed-head drum with two NPS plugs for filling and emptying. Plastic containers such as these are durable, resistant to most chemicals, and resilient to leaks. Available in various sizes, shapes and capacities, these containers have a wide variety of applications including food storage, chemicals, detergents, solvents and paint.

These containers can be painted in different colors per modeler’s own preference. A special addition to this set is the small water-slide decal sheet, which offers even more options for finishing the pieces.

Altogether, I can highly recommend Chemical Storage Containers #2 (E-067) from Eureka XXL. The set delivers 5 superbly cast and wonderfully detailed resin pieces representing different plastic jerrycans and containers in 1/35 scale. The decal sheet included in the set is a very welcomed addition.
