Introduction:

Plastic containers, usually made from high-density polyethylene (HDPE), are durable, resistant to most chemicals, and resilient to leaks. Available in various sizes, shapes and capacities, these containers have a wide variety of applications including food storage, chemicals, detergents, solvents and paint.

Eureka XXL has an extensive catalogue of 1/35 scale modern-day diorama accessories. This review covers Chemical Storage Containers #1 (E-066).

Review:

The set is packed in a standard Eureka XXL small cardboard box with the front opening. The opening serves as a window offering a look inside the box to see the contents of the set.

Inside the box is a zip-lock bag with 5 resin pieces and a small decal sheet.

The resin looks really good and, upon closer inspection, I found no casting imperfections. The details are sharp and superbly delivered... just check out the tiny inscriptions (i.e. Motoroil, 25kg) which are perfectly legible under magnification. Wow! As for the cleanup, the bottom of each container has a casting block which needs sanding. Wearing a protective mask during the process is a must, to prevent inhaling fine resin particles.

The pieces represent 4 industrial-type plastic jerrycans of various sizes and capacities, while the final piece is a round tight-head container with a movable D-handle.

These containers can be painted in different colors per modeler’s own preference. A special addition to this set is the small water-slide decal sheet, which offers even more options for finishing the pieces.

Conclusion:

Chemical Storage Containers #1 (E-066) from Eureka XXL contains 5 superbly cast resin pieces and a decal sheet, aimed to represent different plastic jerry cans and containers in 1/35 scale. Highly recommended.
