Introduction:

Combining Frontline’s Burya Mk19 remote weapon station with Tencore’s TerMIT unmanned ground vehicle resulted in a compact yet highly capable robotic combat platform that can deliver remotely operated firepower with automated targeting and preciselong-range engagement capabilities. By keeping operators safely removed from the front line, the system provides effective fire support suited to today’s high-risk operational environments.

Scale X offers three variants of unmanned ground vehicle TerMIT as 3D printed kits in 1/35 scale. This review covers a Mk19 grenade-launcher variant of TerMIT (VM35007), while the review of the logistic drone variant can be accessed here: link.

Review:

The kit is packed in a well-designed cardboard box. The box art image shows the assembled model, also providing a list of the parts included in the kit.

The box contains two large 3D-printed carriers nestled securely between soft foam inserts. Each carrier features side mesh panels designed to reduce the risk of damage during transport. The package also includes a “Thank You” note and one of the Scale X stickers.

The kit consists of 9 pieces. After removing the side mesh panels, I started cleaning the parts. These are delivered with a lot of printing supports which need to be removed carefully. It is a time-consuming process, but quite straightforward… all one needs are basic modeling skills and some patience. I used side cutters and sandpaper for the job.

The printing quality is really good and I found no imperfections in the parts whatsoever, with the details impressively delivered in scale. 

Assembly:

There are no instructions for building the kit provided in the box. The assembly guide would be a welcomed addition but is not really necessary, as it is easy to deduce where each part goes based on the box art image. For this review, I annotated the parts of the kit.

As noted, building this set is pretty much straightforward. Due to the smart engineering of the pieces, each modeler can adjust the rotation and elevation of Mk19 per his own preferences.

The fit of the parts is really good and the putty work was kept to a minimum. Please note the Burya Mk19 remote weapon station should be positioned at the right-hand side of the vehicle, allowing rotation of the system with no obstructions. 

The accuracy of the model is ensured by designing this 1/35 scale kit in association with Tencore, the company which manufactures the TerMIT robotic platform. With all the necessary information, scale plans and dimensions of the vehicle at hand, Scale X was successful in producing an authentic miniature replica of TerMIT UGV.

Conclusion:

UGV TerMIT, Mk19 variant (VM35007) from Scale X is a great little kit. The secure packaging, impressive printing quality, and thoughtful engineering all contribute to a smooth building process, even if the support cleanup takes some extra work. Despite the absence of formal instructions, the assembly is very intuitive, with the model’s adjustable components add to the flexibility in final presentation of the Burya weapon station. Backed by the data from Tencore, the finished piece stands out as an authentic 1/35 scale representation of the real UGV.
