The very first production batch of the Sd.Kfz. 182 King Tiger heavy tank featured this "Porsche Turret". Its chassis was identical to the later, more common "King Tiger" (Henschel Turret), but it was fitted with a turret designed by Krupp originally intended for the Porsche VK 45.02 (P) heavy tank prototype, hence the name "Porsche Turret". Boasting heavy armor and the formidable 8.8cm KwK 43 L/71 main gun, the King Tiger first saw combat around Caen, Normandy, in July 1944, where it caused a profound shock among the Allied forces.
Now the German Heavy Tank Sd.Kfz.182 King Tiger (Porsche Turret) is brought to you in a finely detailed 1/72 scale model. Its fast assembly design allows for easy and convenient assembly, making it perfect for collectors and modellers.
This MENG’s 1/72 72-010 German Heavy Tank Sd.Kfz.182 King Tiger (Porsche Turret) model is about 142mm long, 53mm wide and 47mm high once assembled. Based on the experience from previous 1/72 scale products, this kit continues to embrace the concept of modular design, and it further improves the building experience. This kit includes fine decals too.
