This offering from Casemate Publishing is authored by Jean-Francois Pelletier, is a hard backed book of 256 pages written in French. The purpose of the title looks at the Waffen SS Grenadiers covering their uniforms in detail. I presume that other titles will follow covering their equipment to an equally high level along with other units as well. The information is presented to the reader in the form of period photographs, and then also covering the clothing with modern colour photographs of surviving garments. You will need to remember that the material of the garments will have altered to some degree, depending on how it has been stored. An interesting touch that I have not previously seen, is that the linings of the jackets has been shown in a good number of cases. The detail this offers the figure modeller cannot be over emphasised, as every detail that you could require is presented to you here. The mix of period images showing the uniform and the modern photographs of the clothing provides a first class reference that would be exceedingly hard to beat. I wish that my French was better, as it would enable me to get even more from the title. The book is not a cheap offering with a recommendation of 56€, but is a stunning reference title to have in your collection.
