This German half-track armored vehicle was based on the captured French Unic P107 tractor, adapted for use as a self-propelled anti-aircraft platform.
The vehicle was mainly used as mobile anti-aircraft defense for armored and infantry units. Thanks to its half-track running gear, it had good off-road mobility.
Sveral dozen units were converted by Baukommando Becker in France, as an example of the improvised adaptation of captured equipment, characteristic of the Wehrmacht in 1940–1944.
Although lightly armored and vulnerable to fire, it provided mobile anti-aircraft cover, especially in campaigns on the Western Front and in occupied France.
The early version had a simple design with an open combat compartment, which made it easier to operate the gun but exposed the crew to small arms fire and shrapnel.
Kit KM-024 is an Sd.Ah.51 (Sonderanhänger 51), a German single-axle military trailer used during World War II mainly to transport 2 cm Flak 30 and 2 cm Flak 38 anti-aircraft guns and their equipment. Thanks to its low weight and simple design, it could be quickly moved and deployed, which increased the effectiveness of the Wehrmacht's anti-aircraft defense.
