This review covers IDF Tank Reservist, Lebanon 2006 (F35001) and IDF Tank Reservist, Lebanon 2006 (F35002), the first resin figures in 1/35 scale produced by Elefant Corporation.

Introduction:

Elefant Model Corporation is an aftermarket company oriented mostly towards producing AFV upgrade sets, conversions and accessories. The company’s figure line is rather limited and the miniatures offered by Elefant remain unnoticed by many modelers.

This review tries to rectify the situation by showing two resin figures from the company, both depicting IDF tank reservists, which should prove popular with all those modeling IDF armor.

Review:

IDF Tank Reservist, Lebanon 2006 (F35001) and IDF Tank Reservist, Lebanon 2006 (F35002) are the first resin figures in 1/35 scale produced by Elefant Corporation. Safely secured in blister pack with hard cardboard backing, each figure set includes 4 parts:

- torso and legs,

- head,

- left arm,

- right arm.

The parts look really good and there are no major issues with the cast: I found no air bubbles, but I did notice a thin seam line along a leg of both figures. I cleaned those using a sharp blade and some fine grit sandpaper. I also cleaned the thin flash between figures legs. The parts feature sharp details, nicely defined and perfectly delivered in resin.

After removing the carrier blocks, I did a test fit of the pieces. There are no issues with the fit whatsoever, but I opted to add pins in order to give some extra strength to the bond. Assembling the figures is very easy.

The figures depict IDF tank crew wearing Israeli-style tank coveralls, but no body armor or webbing harness. The details on the uniform look very good with the folds nicely reproduced. The anatomy of the figures is spot on and facial details nicely delivered.

The designation of these figures as “IDF Tank Reservists, Lebanon 2006” could be a bit misleading. The longer hair could indicate the figures are reservists, but I’m pretty sure these miniatures are appropriate for a broader period than 2006… I would say they can be used for2000-2015 or even a wider time frame. Perhaps some of the IDF experts can confirm this.

Conclusion:

Altogether, I really like these figure offerings from Elefant Corporation. Both IDF Tank Reservist, Lebanon 2006 (F35001) and IDF Tank Reservist, Lebanon 2006 (F35002) are nicely cast and very easy to assemble. Well sculpted and realistically posed, I’m sure the figures would prove welcomed companions to many different IDF vehicles on the market today.
