The M54 was the primary heavy truck of the U.S. Army and U.S. Marine forces during the Vietnam War. It was used to haul cargo, and was also modified to serve as a gun truck by adding armour and various weapons, including double, or Quadmount. 50 calibre machine guns. The truck was also used by the U.S. Navy, and U.S. Air Force, and was deployed by ARVN forces in Vietnam as well.
