Doogs Studios Announces Two New Suspension Sets for the 1/35 Tamiya Chaffee

Doogs Studios is expanding its catalog of upgrades for the 1/35 Tamiya M24 Chaffee with two new suspension sets. 

Releasing in late November 2026, the Suspension Upgrade - Neutral and Suspension Upgrade - Terrain-Posed sets offer direct replacements for the kit's suspension components, bringing improved detail, refined textures, and more convincing mechanical features to the running gear.

M24 Chaffee Suspension Upgrade — Neutral

For modelers who want to improve the kit's rather basic suspension without changing its stance, the Neutral set provides replacement torsion arms and shock absorbers with refined shapes, cast texture, welds, fasteners, and other mechanical details.

It's a straightforward detail upgrade that installs just like the original kit parts.

M24 Chaffee Suspension Upgrade — Terrain-Posed

For modelers who want something more dynamic, the Terrain-Posed set provides multiple suspension positions, from neutral through different degrees of compression and extension.

Each side receives seven different arm options, allowing for more than 7,000 possible configurations across both sides.

The assemblies are based on a mechanically constrained virtual suspension rig, maintaining the correct relationships between the torsion arms and shock absorbers throughout their range of motion.

The result is suspension that looks and behaves convincingly in a finished pose, but doesn't need to actually move. Basically the benefits of a workable suspension without the headaches of kit surgery, tiny parts and delicate connection points. 

Just pick your positions, install the parts, and get on with building your Chaffee.

Or two, for that matter: the set comes with enough suspension options to outfit two complete M24s.

Designed to Go Together

Both sets are direct replacements for the Tamiya kit components. All you need to do is snip off the locating tabs on the kit's torsion arm hull mounts.

That's it. No complicated surgery, no drilling out mounting points, and no elaborate assembly sequences.

Both sets also pair perfectly with our growing family of Chaffee upgrades, including T72 and T72E1 tracks, drive sprockets and idlers, road wheels, rear stowage baskets, and additional details.

To keep the sets affordable, the more complex rear suspension assemblies, which incorporate the linkage to the idler wheel mounts, will be offered separately.
