ICM has matched up their 2cm Flak 38 with a dedicated crew and made it available now.

This offering from ICM in 1/32nd scale of a 2cm Flak 38 with crew is well protected as usual for ICM and so no issues there. The moulding quality is typical ICM in that you need to watch for unexpected ejector pin marks. Getting a negative out of the way is the lack of supporting elements in the form of ammunition which I feel lets this offering down. There is no flash so to speak but some of the seam lines are a little on the heavy side. Looking over the 2cm Flak 38 which has been available on its own; the detail is fair but a little soft in some areas. I am not saying it’s bad but it could be crisper having seen one built now.

The four figures offered in this release are late war judging from uniform detail and the ankle boots with puttees. The hand and facial detail is of a good standard and an area where ICM always tend to do well. The stances or poses if preferred are all acceptable with one pointing at a possible low flying target, another operating the gun, one using a range finder. The last of the four figures concerns me slightly as he is in a relaxed pose and I would assume that he would be one of the loaders and so pretty busy one suspects. The finishing options as regards camouflage look very good to me and so pleasing.
