A number of the CVR (T) vehicle variants have been supplied to Ukraine for their fight against Russian aggression. The Ukrainians have modified the base vehicle in order that they perform functions that they want, or better suit roles that need to be filled. The CVR (T) has some benefits over many armoured vehicles in that it is a very fast moving and relatively low vehicle body. In its original form it had a certain amount of amphibious ability, but I do not know if that remains after the modifications by the UK and Ukrainians. Gecko has in this release continued an interesting line in the CVR (T) history and it is something that they do well, due to the input of Micheal Shackleton and others. This vehicle represents a modification done by the UK.
The base vehicle detail has been very nicely done, and I appreciate the inclusion of link and length tracks. This means there is the minimum of assembly required which suits the preference of the rubber band track fan and the detail is of a very high standard that meets the requirements of the individual link and length tracks fan. Exterior detail on the base vehicle, such as armour detail, intake filter mesh has been well catered to and in a very high degree via the use of photo etch and finely molded plastic parts. I do find it very easy to damage the photo etch from Gecko - now this may be due to me being ham fisted, or the very fine thickness of the metal used, either way you have been warned!!.
No interior detail has been provided and so if you wish to have hatches open, a basic amount of scratch work will be needed at the very least. The main difference between the base vehicle and what the British have done is the inclusion of the Odin turret, which is a small turret for 1 person with an offensive fire power supplied via a 50cal machine gun mounted inside the turret. The turret shape does look to be spacious which is alway a plus for your tanker troops, As such, you have a fast and generally light vehicle, equipped with offensive fire power that scars the bejesus of enemy troops facing it and also has the ability (depending on ammunition type) that can also tackle lightly armoured vehicles. Basically a vehicle that can hit hard and disappear before the enemy troops can put something in place to tackle it. The finishing options for this release are:
