A bit more progress today as I tackled the cab. Not much fun at all as it was a bit of a crap fit so I'm going to have to have the doors partially open as there were huge gaps between the doors and the frame. I think it could be a bit warped as I've built this kit before and the fit was okay. I used superglue in the end as liquid poly just wasn't making the grade today as it all has to be built at the same time so as to line it up squarely. I've got it to the stage now where it can be airbrushed and then put on the fragile bits afterwards as I inevitably end up knocking them off.

As this ones going to be a fuel truck I need another one for ammunition for the tanks. I remembered I'd got a couple of old knackered ones in the cupboard, one of which was better than the other so I'm going to use that for the unfinshed business campaign. I've cannibalised one for parts for the other. I did the same last year with an Italeri Panther Ausf A for the same campaign. Scrapped one to get parts for the other so I ended up with one good kit. This is what a scrap Blitz ready for restoration looks like lol.

The back wheels have snapped off on the other side as well as the front wheel. I'm going to rebuild this and then spray both at the same time so I'll be at a standstill for a bit while I work on the scrapper. Once that's done I can put up some fully painted pics

Mark, I look forward to your build as I've never seen one of their kits in the flesh so to speak. I was curious as to whether the details are as good as Tamiyas last Schwimwaggen as that's a really nice little kit to build and these seem to be a new company so are an unknown quantity.

@Matthias: It is surely not too late to enlist. Glad to have you here!

@Daniel: A nice little tank you've got there! The fit seems nice so far.

@Karl: Sorry to hear about the fit issues. I guess leaving the doors partially open might hide the problem to a large extent.

@Mark: Nice choice! I haven't seen many of these being built.

Yes, I'm not really familiar with them either. Seemed like a good deal on e-bay so I nabbed it. from what I can see it is very nicely detailed and well-molded. Time will tell on fitment.

After an hour and a half of modeling club meeting this morning I'm about 75% done with assembly of the schwimmwagen. For the most part this is a nice little kit that goes together quite well. There is some flash and mold seams in some awkward places, but nothing to horrible to deal with. I also changed up the order on some of the build steps to better ensure a good fit down the road. If anyone is thinking of giving this kit a try I think I can safely recommend it.

It's a nice easy little build. Although I should be focusing on my larger builds right now. Lol

So all I have completed my build. A 1/72 AS532 U1 in initial Gray camo scheme. This is about 2 weeks worth. Also I entered my first competition and got a silver in 1/72 Helicopters. Critiques welcomed.

Painted with Modeler acryillics, and washers with Flory models was.

Really nice indeed, Eugene! Simple but effective color scheme.

Congrats on the contest silver! What competition was it?

Thanks Guys, I was pretty happy with outcome except windows. I have 2 Apaches and a CH46 now.

The show was called Winterfest, it is local competition. Next is the IPMS show in June.

Managed to get the hull finished and base coated. Next step is to clean up the roadwheels and to assemble the tracks. Will be taking a small break from the build while I finish up some others builds for campaigns are will be ending earlier than this one. So i'll be back in April with more updates

Hi Raj, looking good. I know what you mean, like many others I am also working on several campaigns. I have my British Challenger waiting in the line at the paint locker. Oh well

Base coat applied:

All camo'ed up and no place to go:

Can't remember the last time I did a build 100% OOB. Up till now this one has been tracking that way, but I'm suddenly very tempted to add an MG42 from the spares bin since Hero didn't include any weapons of any kind.
