One poor quality photo just to show my current status. T-48 (SU-57) is under construction. Despite the kit seems to be quite easy, there is a lot of sanding and filling. There are some parts that doesn't fit properly. The steering rod is too long, propeller shaft break doesn't fit to the transfer case etc. It hinder the building process, but besides that, making this half track is a real joy.

And Mike's model is a benchmark for me

I started on my halfback today. Made some tiny progress. It's a start and hopefully I'll make more progress soon.

I'd upload a picture but I think photobucket is having issues.

Hi Marek, Looks like you've got things under control. I recall having similar issues with the M21 at that stage. However, I think you'll find the kit practically snaps together (with thoughtful dry-fitting) from here on. And I completely agree with the joy factor! 😃

@ Ken – That OD looks really good!🍸... Watching with interest.

Cheers!🍺

I'm Back. jet lagged and all...

Great to see some new guys signing up... and some classic kits being built too. Comrade, that Tamiya kit brings back some memories..... Just like the US Half tracks, they are still a decent build considering they are 40 YO .

Making some progress on my Sd.Kfz.7 finally.

I should be able to make small progress each day while I'm out of town for work.

Lovely work Tom. Thanks for joining in.

Fingers crossed I will get to lay some paint down in the 250 interior today.

Looking good Sal. Wine would need to be shared around and a rifle is a bit cliché. You could add a little more life to the image thinking a bit outside the obvious.

A pipe or cigarette, a water canteen or just the tin cup from the top, a can of food, an apple, a hunk of sausage, a piece of hard rye bread, etc. Maybe have a bag or box on his right hand side with a few edibles in it to round out the theme.

Then maybe be a bit more adventurous, he could be showing off some war booty - a small framed painting, a musical instrument, a Hat, a book, even a pair of shoes - your options are many and not too hard to fabricate.

Close the thumb up and you can put a map, photo or letter from home in his hand.
Go on, be inventive!!

Okay, finally able to lay some paint down on the 250/9. Tried something different - used Vallejo acrylics as a filter and pin wash medium. Gave it a go as not a lot will be seen with the turret in, so I had the ability to start over if I needed to. In the end, I am quite happy with the result.

Just working on the detail painting and accessories to add .. and have to do the transmission cover - forgot to prime and base coat that.

and a in-progress shot. My third Dragon White Half-Track; hoping I can avoid the upper hull fit problems I've had in the past.

Hi Guys, WIP update. Put the 20 year old decals on they held up fairly well , and initial weathering , waiting for flat to dry and will give oil colors a shot . Am learning a great deal during this build

Hello,

Time to get started on my entry:

I was planning for another vehicle but this one got me interested as it looked a bit what-if and also beefier with its wide tracks. Moreso after reading that this Panzerwerfer 42 variant has not been photographed as much -- over the years there has only been one vehicle visually documented. Though last month I believe there was photo for sale at eBay making it the second vehicle to be captured on film. Anyways, so much for that.

Onto the build:

More to come.

Cheers,

Tat
