New version of the U304(f) half-track transporter, equipped with the late version of a 2 cm Flak 38 automatic cannon which was one of the Wehrmacht's most popular light anti-aircraft guns

The U304(f) half-track transporter, was widely used by the Germans for auxiliary and transport tasks and as a platform for various weapon systems. One of them was in antiaircraft role, mounting a 2cm Flak 38.

Several design changes were introduced in the late version of the vehicle:

  • Modernized superstructure: the sides were higher and had a simpler, more angular shape, which improved crew protection and structural rigidity.
  • Improved platform for the gun: the mounting of the Flak 38 was more stable, which increased accuracy when firing while moving or from a short stop.
  • Modified side shields: folding or removable panels were often used, which made it easier for the gun crew to operate at different angles.
  • Improved crew ergonomics: more space for the gun crew and ammunition, which improved combat effectiveness
