The Seeker is Gaalheri’s new airbrush of their Advanced series, which is their entry level. It is a gravity-fed (top-cup) double-action airbrush with 0.3 and 0.5mm needles.

The Seeker comes in a sturdy cardboard box with a top lid. Inside is a quick start guide in seven languages, and beneath that is a layer of foam to protect the contents from above as well. Below is a piece of dense foam that holds and protects the various components:

• Airbrush
• Detachable Cup with lid
• Extra needle
• Extra nozzle and nozzle cap.

There is also a small zip-lock bag containing spare seals.

The airbrush has some interesting features:

• A travel regulator that allows you to set a stop for the needle so it does not go past a certain point, ensuring a constant flow without effort.
• Teflon for the  seals in contact with the paint, which are more durable than rubber ones.
• Quick-connect adapter.
• Floating nozzle that can be removed without tools.
• All-steel construction with no plastic or aluminum. This makes it feel solid in the hand.
• Two needles, 0.3mm and 0.5mm, so you can choose the one that best suits the job at hand.

Since it is a floating nozzle model, cleaning requires no tools and is very simple: after removing the rear handle, just release the needle chucking nut and unscrew the nozzle cap to separate all the parts.

The detachable cup is, in my opinion, an advantage as it makes cleaning easier.

In use

The Seeker operates perfectly; the trigger responds smoothly to both pressure and pulling. Both the 0.3 and 0.5 needles can produce very fine lines. 

Here you can see some tests with different needle pressures and distances. Keep in mind that I am not an illustrator, and my use of the airbrush does not usually require a high precision, so the idea was to feel its behavior and response to different variables.

Apart from that, I have used the seeker to successfully apply primer, base paint and varnish to this model with acrylic products, not finding any issue in the process.

Conclusion

An airbrush that easily meets the modeler’s needs and comes standard with many accessories, such as the cup cap, two needles, and spare O-rings. The needle sizes are the most common and allow for both precision work and broader coverage.
