Review

Miniart has released a Sd.Kfz.234/3 with 2cm Schwebelafette 38 in the usual style of packaging that I consider mid quality as regards protection. They have taken a step backwards though as the photo etch fret is no longer protected in a card envelope and was still is being packed with the clear sprue and decals which will result is damage in a few cases. moulding quality is of a good standard with very little if any clean-up being needed other than where the gates are connected.

the model is not an interior kit, but it contains a full interior if you forget about the oily parts at the rear and so offers a lot of detail for the cost. Stowage bins down the sides can be displayed open or closed as desired by the modeller and so rates very highly as regards options and details. I am near the end of a build review of one of the releases in this series and so I have a good grasp on what is and is not good. I did not find any issues with the plastic other than the finesse does cause the risk of breakages; I broke three parts in my build and that was due to being ham fisted .

During the build I did find a major issue and that is that the lower sides of the hull have very little in the way of positive location and worse still getting the angles right is nigh on impossible; this issue came very close to me bouncing the model off of a wall and resulted in no end of fit issues. in order to overcome this potential issue you need to jump forward a long way in the instructions to find a sturdy structure to use in getting the angles correct.

If you overcome the fit issue of the lower angled armour these are beautiful kits and offers a host of stunning display options that I am sure will greatly appeal to all.
