This release from ICM in 1/35th scale features a scene that would have been seen across the West of the United States. This immediately made me think of American Gothic painting by Grant Wood and I can’t shake the feeling.
The Ford Model T in the release is built up from the floor pan that has the chassis detail molded as part of it. The oily parts, as usual for ICM is reasonably replicated and should meet the requirement of most. This vehicle is a 2 seater version of the Ford Model T and I am sure was a very suitable vehicle for Doctors of the period. All of the controls are as expected, the only part that caught me out was the inclusion of the battery, which I cannot recall seeing on vehicles of this scale from ICM before. If you are planning on showing the hood of the vehicle up, I am afraid some surgery is going to be required as the 2 sides of the hood which should fold in the middle have not been molded in that way.
The figures in the release, feature 1 female and 3 males - 1 of which is a child. The figure representing the Doctor is typically wearing a black 3 piece sjuit, with a Bowler hat and a Gladstone bag. The other figures I believe are in a rural setting, with the male wearing dungaree jeans, a shirt with the sleeves rolled up. The child is dressed in a similar fashion as regards dungarees and shirt. He has no footwear, and is wearing a cap that reminds me of the cap that the Dutch wore. The female is in a simple long skirt and separate blouse, her hair is tied back in a bun. The skirt is molded to provide and excellent undercut and the females dimensions are not excessive. The clothing all has natural crease detail, and face and hand detail meets my requirements as regards realistic detail.
