Stranger in a Strange Land

  • move
Luc started this project with a friend from his local hobby club to get out of their comfort zone of modeling. Choose a sci-fi theme, Luc started with one of his shelf queens, Trumpeter's Lav-C2.

Luc first removed all hatches from the bottom of the hull and filled it with a sheet of styrene, he then added details like reactive armor and head lights from Academy's M60, smoke dischargers from Hobbyboss's M706, a LAV-25 turret from Italeri, T55 Luna search light, Merkava gun tube from Academy, and a Rhino anti IED device from Voyager.

The crew figures are made with old Kirin torsos with Live Resin heads and arms from the spares box, while the civilian is made with an MK35 figure with a Live Resin head. The finished model was painted with Tamiya colors and weathered with AK Interactive products and oil paint. The ground was made with sand and rock mixed with carpenters glue painted with acrylic and weathered.

Luc calls this diorama "Stranger in a Strange Land".

Great bit work. Vehicle, figures and groundwork all excellent. I personally like the whole WW111/ post apocalyptic thing, a relatively rare theme that is seldom tackled by modelers. Thanks for sharing.

Post Apocalyptic - one of my favorites... Nicely done, a very natural / logic look to the mods. Dio looks great too. 10/10
