Get Out! - Merkava IV

  • move
For this diorama I have used the Merkava IV kit from Academy given to me by a dear friend some time ago. It has been sitting in my stash for some time until I found a diorama idea for it.

The Academy kit is really excellent in terms of quality, details and fit. This kit required no filler at all and all the parts fit neatly. I enjoyed building this one a lot. The weathering was done using mainly "Tamiya Weathering Master" powders in addition to some ink and real soft mud.

The base was created from a flat wood piece and modeling clay covered by Tamiya Diorama textures sand. The rubble was created using different scrap pieces. The destroyed swing was scratch built using barbecue wood sticks (but don't tell the wife!)

The scene depicts a Palestinian Boy throwing a rock at the Merkava gunner and hitting him in the eye. We have seen on TV and Media several scenes of individuals that successfully stood up to tanks in many countries around the world.
