Basilios Geihos takes on a little trip back to the age of the sail with one of his latest seagoing dioramas. Model Shipwrights is proud to present his 1/350 scale Golden Hind, Sir Francis Drake's Flagship.
Sir Francis Drake's Golden Hind
Basilos created his Golden Hind from Zvezda's tiny, 1/350 scale Golden Hind snap-tite kit. He felt the detailing was exceptional for this scale and decided to only make a few alterations to the kit for his diorama.

Basilios replaced the plastic kit offered ratlines for a set of photo etch lines from . For the ship's rigging, he used some of Uschi van der Rosten's .005 mm line. Figures from L'Arsenal were added and Basilios painted the ship in its traditional coloring using Vallejo acrylics finished off with oil paints for weathering.

Excellent work, Basilios! Until I read that it is the Zvezda model, your rendering of the wood grain convinced me it was a wooden model.
