1⁄35M.A.S. 563 Serie 3a classe 500
Well the question is was it worth the additional expense, and effort? Personally I had a really enjoyable and interesting time. Most importantly I learnt a lot about a craft I knew little about when I bought the kit and I have ended up with a rather unique and more complete model.
The interiors although most definitely not 100% accurate provide what I intended which was to draw the viewer into the kit and what can be see leads the mind naturally into believing these spaces had a purpose and gives an indication of what that purpose was for.
The rest I shall leave to you’re judgement.
The scratch build also gave me a lot of opportunity to try out things I had never through I could do and perhaps that is the really beneficial part of the build as we all try and improve and develop our skills with each new project. To all those who offered advice and support my sincere thanks as that is part of what makes this hobby so much fun.
One thing noticable by it's absence is the life raft. If there is a weak point in the kit I feel it is this part as it is a bit flat looking. As it is early days yet no doubt a PE update set will be come available and hopefully it will include a frame for the raft, at which point I may add it or if my skills improve I may scratchbuild one at some point in the future.
