Man - I would have loved to get to drive one of them. Some of us can only dream...

Gunnie

Come on over, I'll let you take a spin.

Gunnie--if you get Armor Magazine, they posted a picture of the UAAPU on the back cover of a recent issue. As I recall, the APU is unfortunately shown upside down. But, what the hell, we waited for twenty years to get this far.

Rob - I've done the JGSDF Type 90 with the Mine Rollers. Awesome kit! Incredibly simple to put together - excepting the mine rollers themselves - but all-in-all, a beauty... If you're looking for a change of pace, Tamiya really does domestic armor subjects well right out of the box.

Gunnie, you talked me into it. I had some extra birthday money from my mother-in-law ($20) and went to the store. I was planning on getting the Type 90 since it was on sale for $29.95 last time I went, but today it was marked down to $19.95. It was a sign from above, chalk up another stroke of good luck (won't mention the $10 I also found on the ground)

Rob/Gunnie--have you put together a Sherman Crab? I picked up the flail system by Coree the other day at a yard sale for next to nothing. It looks complicated. Let me know if you tackeled this one. I also picked up a copy out of Military Book Club by Zaloga entitled "D-Day Tank Warfare." Has a superb colored plate of the Sherman DD.

No, not I Sir DJ - I defer to Rob on this one. I've only recently become a Sherman-Fan. Problem is there are so many dang variants on the M4 chassis that it would take me years for build a good collection. I've never seen a Crab modeled around my neck 'o the woods either - it would be interesting...
