Hi guys,
I am researching about the LAV-R recovery vehicle. Compared with photos, the crane looks a little bit simple. Can anybody tell what type of crane it is. I am sure it is HIAB made, but which model? I also wonder where the spade/braces get attached when the vehicle is using the recovery winch.

Hi Hans Herman,
Armorama member "Tankrider" stated this some time ago:

"It was my understanding that the bars are used in the same manner as spades on the rear of an artillery piece, to immobilize the vehicle when the main winch is being used for recovery. The bars are actually connected to the rear towing points, via a "L" shaped adapters (that Trumpeter omitted, like the third leg of the pack sling, go figure)."

For the crane, HIAB, try to contact press bos via hiab.com

Greetings,
Andreas
