Here is the gun assembly for the sIG. Work on the carriage has already begun with the left side ready for paint. The right side is waiting for a PE part to be added. The instructions are somewhat confusing as it shows unknown parts in places and leaves something to be desired.

Really starting to come together now Robert. I thought I was bad for hopping from one project to another....

Looking good Gary. I have heard the AFV Club Sig 33 is a bit of a challenge to assemble but worth the effort of sorting out where it all goes.

Good luck with the insertion Mike.... be gentle, I'd hate to see this one come apart.

Oh, it gave me issues. Yes. It did! Those stinkin' PE shield braces!

Anyhow, just a couple more bits and pieces to add and of course some paint touch-ups (stupid braces).

Oh man Roman, I LOVE those types of artillery/mortars! I'm going to have to see if I can find one.

Time to call the build done.

Until the prime mover and landscape are done, I won't do any weathering.

Hi. Picked up the build again yesterday. Laid down the tracks, which very nice. I normally don't like building up the tracks, but this was a walk in the park. adding details now so the build should be ready for base coat this weekend.
Photos to follow when I'm there.

Photos of the build so far this weekend.
No fenders yet, all is still dry fit.

Did a first time glueing links, like it, but this side I have to move up one teeth, so it fits as intended.

Some filling to do on the back.

Armor not complete yet, comes very precise. Added spare links on the front and sides, as per reference.

White wall for contrast.

Notice the rubber off wheels. Will add some last rubber to make it more evident.

Really like the kit. Builds up very nice.

With the fenders attached tomorrow it will get some coats of clear. Let dry for a while a then the real job begins, make it a real beaten Geschütz.
Until next time.

Progress, so more photos to show of where I am with the build.

First I painted the top side of the tracks some more and gave it a track wash with some dirt and sand colors. sealed that and mounted the fenders.
Detail painting, wheels mainly is also not finished yet. Added some tape to replicate the burnt rubber wheel. Those are dry fit and easy to get out for more tape and painting.
Some Jerrycans, wood with a bunch of tarps and a fuel drum placed for interest.
More details like ropes, a chain and maybe some boxes will be added too. So not finished yet, still a lot to do.
Hope you all like it. Until next time.

My M7 Priest is completed. Even with Quarantine it took longer than I anticipated. But I've included a number of progress shots here, as well as a final picture. Let me know if I screwed up anything, I haven't tried to post a final build to one of these Campaigns before.

I copy Mark.
Only I would suggest to do some weathering like you did on the outside, to make the inside more interesting. Looks to clean now. Its up to you. Nevertheless a great model.

Thanks. I'll leave it for a while to free my mind and decide what to do next. Loads of other projects to get this stage first.

Most of the hull is done on the 2S1. True to form, Trumpeter put a whole bunch of fiddly bits on it.

Nice beast of a SPG, ComradeMP. Looks very cool.

I have started on my build the Waffentrager SPG. Looks like a decent simple build except for the tracks.

Each link has to be cleaned up and fitted with a track pin in each side. I have never tried these type of tracks from Trumpeter before, so very curious if I will really end up with working tracks.

Anyway, the arduous task of cutting and cleaning track links has begun.

My entry will be the Takom 1/35 SANDF G6 Rhino.

155mm howitzer on 6 big fat wheels. What's not to love!

Thanks, Richard. Good luck on the PE!

Rory, nice choice. I remember reading about this beast many years ago and wishing for plastic model of it. Now we have it. It is truly golden days for modelers!

Looking forward to see more.
