A mild criticism here . . . . .

No postal option offered for the panel van???? (Neither wartime nor post-war.)
Both were offered in the MiniArt L1500S truck.

Here is the decal sheet for the van:

Yet even the Saloon is offered as a post-war Deutsche Post vehicle.

Of course I have no problem swapping decals between vehicle kits!

Being almost exclusively a wartime armor modeler I personally would have preferred to also have been given a Reichpost vehicle option but I realize that logo can pose somewhat of a problem in many countries.

Not trying to start any sort of debate here, just stating an opinion. My family is from the Netherlands so I bear no affinity for wartime Germany other than to in some cases, model some of their impressive machinery. (No affinity at all!)

Deutsche Post from 1947 to 1950,
Dutsche Bundespost from 1950 to 1989 (re-organisation),
1995 it was restructured as companies,
Deutsche Post was then privatized in 2000

Miniart sell it as "BEER DELIVERY CAR" so I don't really think they can be criticized even mildly for not including a Postal Van option. An opportunity wasted maybe, or they plan to sell another run of kits as "POSTAL DELIVERY VAN" to maximise on sales

Oh oh, a couple of 170 variants that MiniArt hasn't covered: Not yet!

I could see either of those covered with vintage surfboards from the "redwood" era. in my youth, the ultimate surfer wagon was a used hearse. now going to a generation or two earlier, I think this vehicle would fit the bill. with wood paneled body of course! (Uschi decals would work fine)

Alan I couldn't disagree more!

Several years ago MiniArt offered us the L1500S Cargo truck. It was clearly identified on the packaging as a civilian milk and beer commercial truck however the kit also includes a Deutche Post decal sets as well. So how the model is "billed" on the outside of the box means little.

Then as I have already pointed out, even the rather luxurious 170 V 4-door Saloon kit has been offered with a Deutche Post option yet this panel van (obviously a commercial truck) is not?????

I would say the absence of these decals is at the very least an oversight if not an outright mistake.

___________________________________________________

I can now say my original decision to purchase the L1500S was based almost solely on the fact that MiniArt had included the Deutche Post decals. However my intent was always to use them for another post-war Mercedes trucks that I had already built.

As it is I have yet to finish my L1500S beer truck.

I would go so far as to say that the extensive variety of decals offered in the many MiniArt vehicle kits has served to sell almost as many kits as the company's excellent engineering. This variety of signage is an excellent adjunct to their many fine kits.

A taste of the level of detail one can expect in this kit:

I think we should avoid getting to caughy up in politics and why they should do this or that. We do not know what other decal options will be included until we have more info.

Miniart tend to use beer logos to help sell their models as you can use various buildings and other options they sell to tempt you to make dioramas of bars being restocked. Their civvy Mercedes L1500 had about 7 options so this may have quite a few.

I am really looking forward to this and hope they make the pickup and 2door cabrio as well.

Regards Jason

The pickup leaves something for us crazy people that would rather chop up a perfectly good model to instead make something we can't get otherwise.

On the bright side, there's probably someone out there who didn't use the postal decals on their L1500S.

Talking about available versions, Wespe Models has released a 1/35th scale "Sankra" on a 170 chassis :

(still looking for pics of the 1:1 one...)
