I’m behind this one! With the plethora of pulling partners available, I’m excited.

Not really. The prime mover for the THAAD AN/TPY-2 AEU (Antenna Equipment Unit) radar trailer is the M1088 FMTV 5-ton tractor.

There is no M1088 model, but one can be converted from the Trumpeter M1083 FMTV 5-ton cargo truck and some AM parts and scratch-building, or use the left over M983 tractor parts in the Trumpeter THAAD kit. All of the tractor parts from their M983 HEMTT are on the THAAD sprues as well.

Can someone give Trumnpeter píctures of the M1088? Would be easy for them to make new sprues for the M1083 kit. Unfortunatly, I never saw the truck myself.

Here are a few more pics of the M1088. Trumpeter already has just about all the parts they need to convert it in their M983 kit. The parts are basically the same. As I mentioned, the parts are left-over/not used on the THAAD spues as well. It is basically just a shortened (bobbed) frame, 5th wheel with ramps, and work platform with gladhands rack. The latest versions also have an A/C condenser on the rear as well.

Here is a shot of the AN/TPY-2 Radar being pulled by an M1088 w/an armored cab in S. Korea.
