There were people who said he would never finish it, never finished anything (these people were actually correct but lets not go there)...

Diamond plate style mesh insert in. Points were not enough area to superglue so I went w/ the old standby - painters tape...
Probably add something to look like bolts & angle clips when it drys.

Tyre only stuck on for for check fit.

OM & G - might actually get to prime this weekend!
And remembered how to post too - batting 100's !

Huge... It's Gonna Be Huge...

Primed.

Looks much better in one color NO?

And Pre-Shaded.

Got little bit aggressive w/ the shade.
And some minor seam work - feels like a weld bead in my future.

Picked this turntable up on sale 5 USD. Cant hurt.

Camo starting tomorrow. Tans & Browns. Browns & Tans.

And
Maybe
Cant promise
Preview of the next project

Base coat paint on - Lt. Sand (very light...).

Pre shade appears to have left the model.
Two more colors to go !

And for those viewers interested in the next unfinished project in line:

The (very) old Tamiya T62 w/ an Eastern Express 130mm gun.
Its my version of a combo of the of "Iraqi Marder" and Cuban BMP mods.

Camo about to start...

Using Desert MERDC (3 color tho not 4). Sim to this:

From the Team Yankee site, alot of good camo painting tips...

My colors:

Scanned in the painting guide from the kit instructions, scaled it to match model, and traced the base color. I'll print and lay over painters tape to make my masks.
Time consuming but thats too much for me to try an freehand...

W/ luck I'll finish major painting this weekend.

Thought I would finish over week - not...

Took three tries to make masks. Cutting squiggly likes no picnic either.

And now: 3 Color Desert MERDEC

Few spots to clean up... And I still have to work that #%@!% seam !

Overall - I can live w/ it.
Next episode: add fine detail parts.

Big Step - wheels on...

Sits level which is always nice.
Few more of the detail parts and stowage too. Use a tinted caulking left over from my bathroom remodel to glue them down. Was very thick but worked well on round items which are usually a pain w/ the small surface area.
