In the Museum the M10 blocked the main vehicle entrance door - it HAD to start easy and run!

Meet Don Moriarty - He and several other Volunteers were instrumental in the ground up running restoration of the M50 Ontos you see here. All I can say is "it's a Hot Rod!"

The Museum's M-20. I have always had the feeling that in the forties Ford did not have much prior experience with rear engine vehicles. The shifter in the M8/M20's is simply installed backwards facing the rear of the vehicle. Takes a bit of getting used to after dealing with a more normal shift pattern.

Great to see these pictures. I was stationed at Knox from 1988-1996. I took part in two of the Forth of July renactments once as a radio operator in the M-8 and Once as a bow gunner in the M-5. Sorry to hear about Duane, I knew him through this and we were also members of the Goldbrickers scale Model club in Radcliff.

Gerald Atherton "putting the pedal to the metal" in a sliding turn to a stop - very impressive driving move topped off when the troops came pouring out the rear ramp a few seconds later!
p.s. The strange looking 50 cal. is carrying a blank adapter on the barrel.
