Darren Baker reviews IDF Merkava Mk IV Basket, one of Eduard's July releases for the Merkava Mk IV from HobbyBoss, this set replaces the baskets on the turret and rear hull.

Nice review Darren. I'll wait and see whether they plan to release it with some plastic stock for the Academy version, which I have. Even if they don't I think this would be quite useful for the Academy model.

Thank you Karl. I really think Eduard would do well from adding the square stock for the academy release, as I can see no reason for it not to fit. The other option is to include in the instructions the correct square stock sizes and angle cutting instructions.

Might be a bridge too far for most of the brass companies to start including resin and/or plastic parts too. There was somebody else commenting on that here the other day.

I cannot see square stock plastic and a set of cutting instructions causing Eduard any problems. I should add to this that some sets I have got from ABER which included plastic or metal rod has caused some difficult to correct damage to the photo etch unless both elements are secured inside the packaging.

Never thought of the damage that could be caused if it isn't packed properly- in fact I had the same thing happen with the Verlinden .50cal set- some of the resin bits got crushed against the etch and ruined a few small bits. I guess it serves as a reminder to always have some brass rod and evergreen handy!
