Excellent review as always Bill. Thank you. I take it from this review that the only real Am item to look out for is metal barrels mostly due to the flash suppressors.

Darren, barrels would be the #1 thing I would recommend in the way of AM for the kit by way of correcting deficiencies of what's in the box. For those wanting to do specific G vehicles with zim, the addition of zimmerit either as DIY or using a resin set from Atak could also be considered.

Bill, much appreciated sir! Thanks for the comments.

Thank you for that Bill as it does make this model desirable as it does not require a host of AM parts.

I agree, I wasn't expecting that from this kit. This one's going on the wishlist for sure, thanks Bill!

Thanks Jeremy, I'm currently in the process of building the H-hull Wirbelwind kit and so far haven't run into any major issues with it from an assembly standpoint.

Sweet, did I miss a build log or are you not posting it on Armorama?

Things have been extremely hectic for me with work and other considerations so I am keeping a build log of sorts on my own site if you're interested, you can see the link here: http://www.bpmodels.net/Model/Album/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=52

I started to work on Wirbelwind recently and I think that Panzer IV parts are superb while Flakvierling is a big worse and those barrels are really bad. I will replace them 100%! The thing is that good AM barrels are really expensive

Matan, thanks and glad to hear it!

Roman, I've got the H-variant that I've been building off-and-on for the last couple of months to the paint stage and didn't have any major issues with the Flakvierling. Other than the barrels which I agree can use upgrading to get the most out of them, I didn't see any other problems with the Flakvierling itself. You are right that at 4 barrels it can be a little pricey to upgrade depending on which barrels you choose. I selected the RB barrels from JB Model out of Austria and the price wasn't too bad. http://www.jbmodel.eu/product_info.php/products_id/81 They currently show as being Temporarily Out of Stock but they usually restock on a frequent basis. Might give them a shot since you're in Norway.

Here's how they look fitted to the kit guns as an added reference.

Well, there is a large issue with parts numbers, I had to cut already glued parts out to correct it...
Regarding the barrels - I will order Lionmark, they are nearly the best and the whole set is 17 USD with delievery from Hobbyeasy.
