Alan McNeilly shares with us a walkabout of the M4A4 Sherman Mk V. The pictures were taken at the Imperial War Museum, London in 2007.

Darren,

The 4th picture in the first row doesn't appear to be of this Sherman.
I don't think it's even of a Sherman, since the hull looks riveted...

Thank you and Alan for this walk around!

Hi Jeff,

It's the same vehicle. The colour difference is caused by the lighting in the Museum. Look at the cast number and then look two pictuers across, the shot of the LHS fender and you'll see the same cast number. Pics can be deceptive and the lighting effects how the colour reflects.

Glad you found them useful.

Some useful shots there Al!
Especially the blackout lights.
I think Jeff and yourself are talking of different photos, as the 4th photo definitely isn't Sherman... Grant turret possibly?
Cheers
Brad

FYI: I noticed the right rear tail light has a red upper oval lens. This indicates that the museum staff put the wrong light up. Only the left side one had the oval red lens. The right side should look like this

Great pics! Thanks a ton
