Good review. One update/correction though. You state...

"...concerning the prime mover, you don’t have much choice. The army usually uses the M1083 and the Corps the MRTV, neither of these vehicles are currently available in 1/35....in travel position you don’t have a prime mover."

This is only for the latest versions. Prior to the MRTV and M1083, both the Army and USMC used M923/M925 5 ton trucks as the prime mover. The Italeri kits are perfect for this.

I did one a while back using the Italeri M923A1 and the Airmodel M198.

Thanks Gino for your help
Concerning the prime mover, you are right but the gun is a last version one.
I hope that Trumpeter is listening ???
Gao any comments on the M1083 and MRTV

Cheers
Seb

The upgrades to the "late" version gun as Trumpeter has labeled it were made in the mid-late '90s. So it is still appropriate for it to be pulled by an M900 series truck.

I believe one of the OOP KMC/ Warrior M109 Update sets had a collimator- the only one I've seen in plastic or resin. Aiming Stakes should be easy to make.
