Just posted, a review of a neat little vignette base from Custom Dioramics that will lend itself to not only 1/35 scale, but also 1/48 and 54mm scale figures.

This would be a nice base for a figure vignette. Not too high a price either. With a little work and some imagination it could also be included as part of a larger diorama.

Hi Rudi...........

Over the past few weeks I've been going around and replying to reviews of items done from my desk. It's in order to clear up questions and aid the model maker in using them for his/her purposes.

First off, it's been sculpted traditionally. I believe in doing masters hands on and really want no part of computer aided programs to help me make my masters. That may change someday, but for now, my hands do all the work.
Secondly, this is NOT a stand alone product. Like many of the items I've done over the years, it is meant as a starting point for the model builder to add onto or accentuate. This is a point which seems to have been missed over the years. There's no way for example that a 4 x 6 dio base can accomodate a vehicle, let alone a few figures, but when you glue it to your plywood base, the options are unlimited as to how you can build onto each side and expound on the beginning scene presented.

Hope this helps
Take care

Nice to hear from you as the sculptor of the piece Ben.

-Good point. That's the way I tend to treat Diorama bases and accessories -as modules in the composition of a larger piece.
