Guard Dogs
Contents: 2 pcs.
Item: ARM35110

Guard Dogs
These resin dogs are packaged in the standard top flap-opening box that Armor 35 uses for their figures. Box art is the painted models superimposed over a sepia tone of a shepherd dog. They resemble German Shepherds. Inside the box the models are packed in a zip-locked baggie.

Casting is crisp. There is no flash nor seams or bubble pocks.

Armor35 also uses these models in sets ARM35106 German soldier with a dog of WWII and ARM35109 Soviet soldier of NKVD with a dog, WWII. See the studio photos at the bottom of this review.

Detail
Hair of the dog is suggested with ridges. The dogs wear collars with buckle detail. What impresses me are the panting tongues and bared teeth. The paws look good, too.

assembly and painting instructions
None. The canines are single castings. There are plenty of references for painting available.

conclusion
Sculpting and casting are very good, as are details.

Hair texture is basic. I plan to texture these pups with a wire brush before painting.

These are good looking resin shepherds. Recommended!

About Frederick Boucher (JPTRR)
FROM: TENNESSEE, UNITED STATES

I'm a professional pilot with a degree in art. My first model was an AMT semi dump truck. Then Monogram's Lunar Lander right after the lunar landing. Next, Revell's 1/32 Bf-109G...cried havoc and released the dogs of modeling! My interests--if built before 1900, or after 1955, then I proba...

I've seen worse in my time...and hardly any better (which is not much incidentally). The paws are nor perfect, their hair structure could be better, ears are a tad strange, etc Animals are special, and strangely anough sculptors have problems with mens' best friends. Considering the proximmity and the long lasting intimate relationship between man and dog, that's weird enough! Cheers Romain

They look like they could be used for Vietnam perimeter guard dogs too . I don't remember anything different from the way look and how I remember the real ones looked. These models look great , paws and all..
