First Look Review

New from Hussar Productions is a set of 76.2 mm rounds made from machined brass. These rounds are suitable for use in any of the following Soviet tanks which used the 76.2 mm gun, KV-1, KV-1S, T-34/76, SU-76.

In the Bag

In the package you receive enough parts to make 16 complete rounds (4 of each type of round) and 6 spent casings. The rounds come in two parts, the warhead and the brass casing. The warhead fits snuggly into the casing and can be fixed with a drop of CA glue to ensure it will not fall out. This process is perfect as you can paint the warhead separately and then attach it to the casing ensuring a clean and straight demarcation between the two halves. Also included in the set are decals for both the warheads and the brass casings made for Hussar by Techmod. Hussar has provided you with instructions for placement of the decals as well as a color chart for painting and marking the shells. The decals look well printed and will add that extra something to the rounds making them all the more realistic.

Types of Rounds Included (4 each)

1-UOF-354M with the fragmentation projectile OF-350
2-UBR-354 with the armor piercing projectile BR-350B
3-UBR-354P with the armor piercing sub caliber projectile BR-240P
4-USH-354T with the shrapnel projectile SH-354T

Overall Conclusions

Overall I found this set to be above average in Manufacture and design. Hussar Productions went the extra mile for the modeler and provided all the materials needed to make accurate and well detailed ammunition for their Soviet tanks. I for one am pleased to see so much packed into these sets as it helps to raise the bar in the aftermarket world and will hopefully encourage other manufactures to include a bit “extra” for the modeler.
