Eduard's F6F-3 Hellcat photo etched set destined to the Hobby Boss kit (see review HERE) comes in the usual packaging of the Czech manufacturer. It is composed of two photo etched frets (of which one is pre-painted and self adhesive) and instructions.

Fret n1 comprises about 85 parts of which some are very small. You get an instrument panel, consoles, boxes, levers and switches, seat belts, etc

Fret n2 is comprises about 43 parts. Here as well there are tiny parts and appropriate tools and glue will be necessary to use them properly on the model. On this fret you will find parts such as the headrest plate including two small acetate windows, small details for the cockpit floor, a rear view mirror, etc...

As you would expect from Eduard, the quality of these photo etched frets is very good. The pre-painted parts are excellent. However, the sets have been designed to fit the Hobby Boss kit without modifying it in any way, so in the end you will have a detailed but nonetheless wrong model since the original kit's cockpit is way to big. To be fair, it would have been impossible for Eduard to do something about this anyway without a complete fuselage replacement which is not the purpose of such a PE set.

The black & white instructions are printed on an A4 sheet folded so to constitute a small 4 pages booklet. They are nicely done and easy to follow. Some plastic will need to be removed from some parts to be replaced by the PE parts and this is well explained in the instructions.

conclusion
As always, Eduard have made a good job with this PE set destined to Hobby Boss' F6F-3 Hellcat kit. However, it won't correct the errors of the kit so you will have a more detailed model in the end, but not a more accurate one. Now the choice is yours.

Please remember, when contacting retailers or manufacturers, to mention that you saw their products highlighted here - on AEROSCALE.
SUMMARY
Highs: Great quality as always.
Lows: This set won't correct the shape problems of the Hobby Boss kit.
Verdict: If you want a more detailed interior of your Hobby Boss F6F-3 model, then go for it.
