introduction
While manufacturers like Tamiya and Hobbyboss are focusing more and more on the scale 1:48, the aftermarket products can't stay behind. The Polish manufacturer Aber is one of them. Although they haven't spent too much attention on this scale, they are exploring this new market with the release of scaled aftermarket products.
review
This barrel is the newest release from Aber in the 1:48 Metal Gun Barrels category and is made to replace the plastic barrel of the British Cromwell or Centaur that was released some time ago by Tamiya. The Tamiya supplied barrel depicts the later 75mm gun whereas the Aber represents the earlier 57mm, which is also a bit shorter in length. The cromwell I (with the 57mm barrel) was mainly used for training.

The barrel comes packaged in a typical Aber photo-etch type plastic sleeve with a black piece of card stock to add strength. Mine arrived in perfect condition so this seems to be adequate protection. Also included is a one page instruction sheet that merely indicates the barrel being pushed into position. Although the barrel fits well, I'd recommend a bit of CA adhesive to hold it in place. Finish is smooth and clean, and as with other metal barrels it should accept primer and paint well.

It is a very well manufactured turned aluminum barrel. The scale is right and the fitting is excellent.
Conclusion
Simple but effective.
Highly recommended.
