Review

This set comes in the standard open end box with a picture on the front of what it could look like, and the back of the box has the build instructions and possible color scheme. Inside are 2 identical sprues (grey) for the 2 tables and 4 chairs. There are 3 colored sprues of crockery and a coated stock sheet for outdoor canopies.

My sample had no damaged parts but the canopy sheet had a few wrinkles. They ironed out between 2 towels on low heat.

I removed the parts from the sprue with a flush cutter and still had to trim and sand gently to get them as clean as I could. The chair legs are very fragile; I broke 2 but got them glued together The pictures will show some attachment points still there and a gap in the chair seat frame as I was working with nerve damage to my left hand, my apologies for the shoddy work here. If your hands work properly. these parts fit together well.

The chair frames can be painted as wood cane or wrought iron. The seat covers look as if they could be painted as leather or that plastic which sticks to you in hot weather.

Now the tables, Care must be taken to make sure that the supporting leg is perfectly straight up (at 90 degrees) or the table top will sit at an angle. The 3 sided base is beautifully rendered to look like cast iron with some scroll work on it. I have considered carving some open spaces which would be tedious but enhance it too. The table top has a variety of surface finishes.

The crockery is as follows;
Transparent Green= 2 types of bottles, Possibly wine and a liqueur, 4 of each.
The white sprue = ceramic coffee or tea cups with saucers, and ceramic beer mugs, 3 each.
The clear sprue consist of = tall wine bottles and small cordial bottles.
When you remove them from the sprue you will have to make sure that the bottoms are completely flat or they will sit crooked.

The canopies are a nice touch but you will have to build the frame work for them. There are 3 different main canopies, a red and green, blue and dark blue and a tan and cream. All are vertical strips. There are 6 different edges, 2 for each and 11 signs for the building front and building sides. They are in French, German and Italian.
SUMMARY
Highs: The chairs are delicate to scale and the wrought iron table stand/supports are finely detailed. Canopies are a nice and colorful touch.
Lows: Chair legs are very fragile and care will be needed to remove from sprue.
Verdict: A very useful diorama set. Can be used as a cafe set or even a stone patio on the back or front of a civilian building.
