For many years, there has been an existing model kit of the E30 M3 in the 1/24 Fujimi kit. However, because of when the kit was created, many of the chassis components were designed to be shared with another car that was completely unrelated. This is the reason why the kit failed on so many levels as the proportions of the car was stretched.
With this release, the BeeMax E30 M3 knocked it out of the park. Demand for this kit has been long awaited as the proportions and overall quality of this kit is far superior to the 20 year old Fujimi kit.
Upon opening the box, you will find the sprues to be prepackaged in small bags much like how you would find the kits from much larger companies such as Aoshima, Tamiya and Revell. The parts appear to be crisp and clean. There does not appear to be much in mold lines or any imperfections of any sort. Belong is going to be a sprue by sprue examination.
Sprue A consists of mainly the interior parts of the race car. The interior tub is well detailed and the appears to replicate the stamped steel very well. The door cards and roll cage is also present in this sprue. A few other pieces from the interior such as the steering wheel and shifter is also attached here.
Sprue B are mainly parts for the chassis of the car. The floor pan and transmission as well as the underside of the engine is molded in one piece. The front and rear subframes are also attached to this sprue. The rear differential as well as the brakes complete the sprue as well as the interior dash of the car.
Sprue C is a much smaller sprue. It consists of 3 parts, the bonnet (hood) rear bumper as well as the front grill. One thing to point out is that the front grill of this car has slight proportional issues when compared to the actual car. However these issues are minor in the overall scheme of the kit.
Sprue D is the clear parts sprue. The windshield, back glass as well as the side glass are all molded with perfect clarity and they do not have any warpage.
Sprue E is a small sprue of chrome parts such the front grill trim as well as the headlight housings. Overall they appear to be molded well and have nice detail.
Sprue F is a collection of miscellaneous parts. It consists of the front bumper, a single racing seat, the spoiler wing, the exhaust, aero wing mirrors as well as the wheel hubs for the front suspension.
Sprue W consists of the wheels. The wheels are center lock BBS wheels that came on the race car. They appear to be very well detailed
The body of the car is in a bag of its own. There are tiny mold lines on the A pillars that a few seconds with the sanding stick will take away quickly. The proportions are perfect. Details such as trunk pins and door handles are molded in.
The decals of the kit seem to be printed very well. The decal sheet has decals for 2 different cars from the same racing series. However the overall scheme of the cars appear to be the same with the exception of a few sponsors.
