USMC OIF AAVP-7 Crew

by: Pete Becerra [ EPI ]

Each figure is wearing the standard USMC MARPAT uniform, IBA, and new style BOSE CVC helmet.

As the title on the box says, they are made for the Tamiya AAVP-7, but can easily be incorporated onto another tracked vehicle such as a M1A1. Also, by sanding off the pockets on the sleeves, they can be used as US Army crewmen and be placed on a Bradley, M113, or a M109 Paladin.

While flipping through one of my Concord books, I noticed the MARPAT tops look sort of like the tops worn by the soldiers of the Stryker Brigade. So now we have a crew for a Stryker as well. HINT, HINT manufacturers!!!!!!!!

The IBAs are done very nicely. Each web strapping is well defined.

Like I stated in my review on the separate OIF Head Set, the only down fall with the CVCs, is that there is no mike booms provided. Some stretched sprue for the single boom type or photo-etch booms will fix the problem.

The driver consists of a head and torso. The head fits perfectly in place.

The tank commander consists of a torso, head, left arm and right arm. Once again, all pieces fit perfectly in place.

If you’re just collecting OIF figures like me, or need them to man an appropriate tracked vehicle, this set is a must have.
SUMMARY
Bill Chilstrom and the folks at VLS/Warriors have done it again. The second installment of modern OIF USMC figures has hit the streets. This time, a nice two piece AAVP-7 crew set.
