Considering just how many Pz IVs Dragon Models have done over the years, this one is a surprising omission - until now, The 'Wirbelwind' in 1/35th scale.
The new model from DML is:

6342 - Flakpanzer IV Ausf.G "Wirbelwind" Early Production

As much as I like this, I'd actually be more interested in the field ambulance in the background *hint hint*

how is this any different than the other Wirbelwinds on the market? man dragon gets a D- for creativity....

I did an Ostwind from Trumpeter recently, had to correct the hull because the one from the kit is not corresponding to any versions GHJ - just a mix of everything ;( and of course this problem with undersizing upper hull - I decided to leave it like it is, just trained myself in making zimmerit and interesting camo from Nuts and Bolts book. Looking forward to Dragons Ostwind since it will have a production turret, and not a prototype turret as Trumpeters. For those who complains about Dragon - this new Wirbelwind features a different hull and this is important for people who want to make an accurate model according to reference pictures , and not just nicely painted "something like a WWII vehicle". The previosly avaible version of Wirbelwind was on late hull and there not that many reference pictures that have later hull without zimm, so you had to do a zimm or spend some xtra cash for cavalier zimm.

Well, for now this is the early G variant with the visibility clapper-blocks on the sides. No zimmerit ist needed there. But why don´t they release instead of that one a late G with zimmerit ?

that would be a cyber-hobby white series release

Given how well the Trumpeter version sold, I wouldn't hold your breath. It's an expensive niche product.

Wait for it ... Dragon or CH will come out soon with another Pz IV G, too, with the bolt-on armour. Their recent "Pz IV G Apr-May 1943 Production" only has the welded-on armour, if I recall?

Would have to agree here 100%

For those wondering about the first Wirbelwind Dragon released, I did a in box review/discussion HERE still have to come up with zimmerit... but thats not too hard. Andy
