Concord Publications have just announced a New book which is a welcome change from some of their recent titles and themes.
The New book is:

6532: Warriors of Imperial Japan in World War II 1941-45

Containing 52 pages, 10 color plates, 34 color and 68 b/w photos, the book is written by Claudio Antonucci. For those who require it, the book carries the ISBN 962-361-171-4

It is, IMO, an excellent departure from the overwhelming number of books on German subjects. Tis is due to several factors. Firstly, that interest in Japanese subjects is growing. This is due partly to the excellent range of AFVs from Pit-Road (some of which are getting produced under licence from Tamiya) and, on a more mundane level, people ARE looking for a different area beyond the WWII German armed forces.

The second, is no doubt prompted by the interest that The Pacific has generated amongst modelers (was the announcement of a New U.S.M.C. set from DML ENTIRELY coincidental?).

Finally, there ARE excellent reference books out there on the I.J.A., unfortunately, they are relatively expensive and sometimes hard to come by. Getting a 'mass-market' book from a widely-available publisher such as Concord is a real plus.

Hopefully, and i'll be surprised if we don't get the announcement in a few days, DML will announce some Japanese figures...
