I guess the dio I am planning just doubled in size

I'll second Pat's WOOHOO. And the figures are carrying packs, which is an extra bonus. Now I can finish my M4A2. Maybe some PTO Army figures will follow.

I hope they start adding some new Japs as well

Well, i'll wait untl the actual images arrive before any kind of judgement - i've got faith in DML doing a good job on them but not on the basis of a line drawing.. What IS missing, are Heavy weapon sets with USMC Crews...

Out of curiosity is Ron Volstad no longer doing the boxart for DML? I feel like its been several months since his last one. I believe it was the British at Monte Cassino?

I think Masterbox had a great idea with making sets that can be easily combined, like the Marines and Japanese infantry. Dragon will now have four different four figure sets of Marines spanning the years 1942, 1943, 1944 and 1945. They seem intent on representing specific units and times on a very small scale rather than making more flexible and comprehensive figure sets, speaking of their entire figure line. I really wish they would do five and six figure sets more often, or if they stick to four figures, then three sets to make one full squad, but there would have to be enough demand. Ok, I'm done.

This has been my criticism of other figure releases from DML as well. However, in this case, this isn't applicable. Although they've labelled it Peleliu 1944, this is a bit of a misnomer as the Uniforms amd webbing will take you from 1943-45 with few problems. As to being 'Unit-Specific' it makes all the sense in the world to do figures of 1st MarDiv. They WERE the most high profile MarDiv in the Pacific - Mr Spielberg's mega-productions aside.

Hmmm, my dad was 4th MARDIV, would these work for Saipan? Same time period, but I don't know enough about the differences between the 1st and 4th Marine Divisions. But a welcome addition in any case.
