Recently, Concord Publications unveiled a new title which is likely to get large interest.
Written by Tom Cockle, who has worked closely with DML (in particular over the company's Pz IV series), this new book is:

7070: Panzer-Divisions in Battle 1939-45

Following the usual format of these series', the book contains 72 pages, 16 color plates with 169 photos. The color plates have been done by Laurent Lecocq.

Such a huge study area would be difficult to cover in a single volume - in fact this is the FIRST in a projected series which will cover other Theaters. In this volume, the areas covered are:

The Invasion of Poland,
The Battle for France
The Intervention in the Balkans
The Desert War in North Africa.

Inevitably, the photos and Color Plates reflect the wide variety of equipment of this period - The early Panzer Series along with some of the less-documented subjects such as the 38 (t) are all included.

Not the fault of the author, but perhaps Concord could pay more attention to their titles? Covering four areas of the Early-War period will give good coverage - at first glance at the title it appears to be covering just too much. Now if the book was titled 'Volume 1', the idea behind the book could be much better transmitted.

Thanks for the heads up Jim, as you already pointed out, the title is a bit of a misnomer, and I do wonder a little, what will this volume bring what is not out there already? Still, as they say, you can never have to many books on your shelf. I'm sure it will be a popular publication. Maybe I should not say this yet, as it is very difficult to see on a screen image, but according to the captions, there are two different Pz.Kpfw. IV crossing that temporary bridge. An Ausf. C and an Ausf. D. Well fancy that. They look like the same vehicle to me (I mean, how many vehicles do you get to cross a bridge for such a demonstration? ). Henk

Interesting book for sure, but hopefully all the pictures within are previously unpublished. Otherwise it would just be more of the same. I noticed that some of the colourplates cover late 1944. How can this be if the subjects covered are all early war battles? Or does the battle of France mean everything from 1940 to late 1944?
