Another day, yet another Dragon Models release..
DRA6421 - Quad Gun Trailer M55

Within the company's 39-45 series and classified as a 'Smart Kit', this new model shows a certain degree of ingenuity. The pedestal and gun mount has already been released as part of the M16 Halftrack in 1/35th scale. However, using the existing mould and adding on the towing trailer & lower mount, DML have maximised the return on the mould.

As to towing vehicles, there are a good number of options available (this wasn't a very heavy piece of equipment) from some of the range of light/medium U.S. trucks in the AFV Club (ex-Skybow) range.

No crew figures are included but it should be easy enough to modify a gunner from existing figures. Hopefully, DML are considering some crew later on?

Just to nitpick, the M45 is the turret. The 4-wheel trailer was the M17 (a modification of the M7 generator trailer), while the specifically designed 2-wheel trailer was the M20. M17 + M45 = M51 Multiple Machine Gun Carriage M20 + M45C = M55 Multiple Machine Gun Carriage

Indeed should be intereasting to slap one of these on the back of an M35 to recreate famous guntrucks like Nancy, Bounty Hunter,Easy Rider,Little Respect, Widow maker and many more The Sprue shots look very promising It should be intereasting on how it turns out

Good to something a bit different from DML - although I really do wish they'd release a crew with it instead of making us wait a year for them to think maybe we need one... really excited about the prospects of the crew though...

Be great to see Vietnam War, Korean War and WWII era crews for the same kit! Anyone know how much it will cost yet? Regards and Aloha, Johnny B.

Isn't there a Chilean, (Venezuelan, Peruvian?) M8 or M20 with one of these mounted inside? Also a Turkish M113 with one? -begins the frantic scramble through reference photo archive on hard drive, mumbles to self about eventually organizing all these 24%#@! pics.- Mike

The Colombians fielded M8s with the M45 turret replacing the standard turret, along with the engine upgrade developed by NAPCO. The also fielded a variant with a TOW missile launcher. I believe you're right about the Turks and their M113s with M45 turrets, but I think the Pakistanis and Lebanese (who also fitted the M113 w/ ZU-23-2s) also used configurations similar to this. I could easily be wrong.
